The Smoots
Nestling in a cleft of what is known as the South Cliff, the Village of Navenby is situated on the A607, between Lincoln and Grantham, two of the places linked by the old Roman road, Ermine Street, which runs past the village.
Unlike most of the cliff villages the main road runs through Navenby, which has the wide high street of a market town. There are many old buildings on the High Street, some of which were originally farm houses.
